Overview
Since TrackMania Original and TrackMania Sunrise, mods are Zip files. They only apply to maps which were created for.
Before that, mods weren't officially supported by Nadeo, but textures could be replaced directly in the game folders. Mod'O'Matic were designed to do exactly that.
Default Mod Swapper does this global file replacement using a Zip mod content you already had downloaded.
DMS creates a backup to allow original environment restoration.
Even if this software is abandonned, Default Mod Swapper still exists as a feature inside some softwares :
