Desert is the first environment for TrackMania Original. It was shown during the very first TrackMania beta version where it was known as Speed. It was the only environment in the first demo version.

Here we have the flat, sandy expanses of the desert baking under a leaden sun, with rocky canyons and hills providing terrain suitable for the most extraordinary constructions.

Loops, elevated turns, breathtaking drops and impressive jumps succeed each other at lightning speed on these ultra-fast courses. Whether at ground level or dizzying heights, the asphalt roads with guard rails will forgive small trajectory errors, but not driving mistakes!

Gameplay

The gameplay is particulary interesting. The car holds quite well the road. In turns, at drift limit, the car goes up on two wheels, which makes a beautiful effect, in addition of giving some indications to the driver.

The first block series was rather limited, but Nadeo added a whole series of freeride blocks, with next add-ons, especially Power-Up. This new type of maps still turn out a great success, especially since Stunt have been added in TrackMania Original. The car behaviour makes Stunt videos particulary interesting.

Car

The American car has good acceleration and powerful brakes, which make its behavior quite realistic. It excels at full-speed turns, enormous jumps and hard braking.

Driving

But be careful—its the cars precisely balanced suspension reacts to the smallest little bump or abrupt turn.
