Why translate an article?
TM Wiki has two separate websites :
- An English website, this one,
- A French website : Main Page
We want those two websites to have the same structure, and a coherent article base. As you create an article on this English website, please create the equivalent on the other website. Event if you don't speak French, at least create an empty page using the article's translation, and leave the actual article to be translated and added by someone else.
How to translate?
When you create an article, you have to create the equivalent article on the french website.
On the French website
Create a corresponding article, translating its title. Since titles should be short, you can use Google Granslator. Set the French article to the category corresponding to the English one. Use the inter-language link in the English category to find it.
Add the following tag at the end of this French article:
[[en:<<english title>>]]
And then:
{{en cours}}
If you want, you can translate the whole article, limit yourself to section titles, or save it with just the tags mentioned above.
On the English website
In the English article, set the following tag at the end of the text:
[[fr:<<frenh title>>]]
To identify the article as one that needs translation, add the following tag:
