Environment
The Day mood corresponds to the default and unique mood in TrackMania Original at the time of Power-Up. In the first release, the sun was at the zenith, shadows were perfectly verticals.
At TrackMania Sunrise's release, enlightment has been totally redone. Later, this big update was transferred to TrackMania Original, Speed-Up had the same graphics as Power-Up. Now in the Day mood, the sun isn't at the zenith anymore, but enlightment is much more realistic.
Of course it is the most luminous mood, with the sharpest colours. Headlights and standard lamps don't work.
