This special version features a brand new environment, the Stadium, and a revolutionary new gameplay designed for Nadeo's own custom cars. Players can customise their cars and avatars and race in their nation's colours on the world's servers. The grand final of ESWC will be held in the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in July 2006, in front of 10,000 people, where the best players from each country will battle it out for a prize of 400,000 US dollars.

TrackMania Nations ESWC is the third TrackMania game. It has been specially developed for the ESWC, the Electronic Sports World Cup. One of its great features is that anyone can download it for free from the net. It still remains a full-version game as it does not limit the amount of usable blocks, so it is not a trial version.

Another important feature is that players can represent the country of their own choice on the ladder system, in order to promote competition.

The last main feature of this version is that it includes only the essential components of Trackmania games. When playing Nations you will run in only one environment, with only one mood, without any ghost. You cannot play either campaigns or puzzles, or platforms, or crazy modes.
