Time Addiction tracks
Time addict tracks are considered extremely fun by many hardcore community members and they are the sort of tracks that encourage you feel adrenaline by driving well, steering correctly and finding methods to finish as quickly as possible and have the fastest time possible.
In multiplayer, these tracks are highly addictive because everyone can have a chance to unexpectedly win.
The tracks present methodic challenges for the experienced driver to overcome to win miliseconds but also give the inexperienced random chances to win over the methodists by chance because they bounced off an obstacle, slammed into the finish poles or other situations where players could find themself miliseconds in front of the competition.
This experience is therefor remeniscent of a gambling game, where you win by chance.
This type of track usually is made by the following criteria:
- It's usually under 1 minute
- A combination of race and press forward elements
- Provokes the users to use microsteering to achive the fastest passage between point A and B
- usually presents obstacles or tricky track-elements that are made to be passed succesfully by either good steering or fast driving.
History
The first TrackMania mapper to conceive this idea was Ariakan. He had 10 tracks [1] which marked the birth of a very addictive subculture of tracks to follow. Players would spend hours and hours on these tracks to have fun and gain that 1 milisecond over the fastest user of the session.
